Notice how many strategies employ a mnemonic to assist students in remembering the steps to the reading strategy (see Chapter 3). In addition, strategies often include some sort of visual reminder to help students remember each of the steps. Figure 5.6 is a strategy sheet for the QRAC-the-Code strategy. In addition, Chapter 7 includes a scripted modeling lesson for this strategy.
